LAS VEGAS, NV – Jonathan Byrd looks stunned as he realizes he just hit a hole in one in the final round to win the 2010 Justin Timberlake Shriner’s Hospitals for Children Open.
Three players were left who each tied at 21 under after regulation – Martin Laird, Cameron Percy and Jonathan Byrd. They played three sudden-death playoff holes, but it was Byrd who stepped up to the tee on the 204-yard par-3 17th, to hit the miraculous shot.
The PGA Tour said there has never been an ace to win a tournament in sudden death, until now.
