KANSAS CITY, MO. — Jayhawks head coach, Bill Self, will be the keynote speaker at the University of Missouri Kansas City’s 2nd Annual ’Roos Tip-off Dinner to be held on Sept. 30 at the College Basketball Experience. Dwyane Wade Signs New Contract with Miami Heat

MIAMI, Fla. — Looks like Dwyane Wade is staying with the Miami Heat. According to Yahoo Sports, to cite sources, Wade signed a new contract with the Heat on Tuesday, July 15. It’s a two-year deal, the second of those seasons a player option, said a person familiar with the situation. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because neither side announced terms. Financial terms were not announced, though it’s expected Wade’s salary for next season will not reach the $20.2 million he would have made under his previous contract.

CORAPOLIS PA. — Former Pittsburgh Steelers Jerome Bettis along with Steelers Jarvis Jones recently appeared at Dick’s Sporting Goods headquarters in Coraopolis where they put some young athletes through the paces as part of the company’s “Sports Matter” project. According to KDKA, two area schools and a soccer club, suffering from financial shortfalls, received checks from Dick’s totaling more than $64,000 for their sports programs.
