Washington National’s outfielder, Rick Ankiel, received a standing ovation Monday night after his throw to home plate in Monday’s 6-3 win over the Astros.
Ankiel told the Washington Post that the throw “came out clean” while third baseman Ryan Zimmerman attributed Schafer staying put to it being “kind of predetermined not to test Rick out.”
