Hope Solo, who showed off her dancing skills on last season’s Dancing With The Stars, is looking forward for a chance to take home a gold medal for the USA in the 2012 Summer Olympics to be held in London.
Hope Solo is a popular motivational sports speaker says PFP Sports and Celebrity Talent Agency.
Solo was the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. On August 21, the U.S. women’s team won the gold medal by defeating Brazil 1–0 in extra time, due to Solo’s performance as she stopped an aggressive Brazilian attack, making save after save.
Recently Hope Solo, along with forward Sydney Leroux, signed with the Seattle Sounders women’s soccer club on Tuesday, Feb. 14, for the 2012 soccer season. The Seattle Sounders play in the Western Conference of the 27-team league which is part of the W-League and affiliated with the United Soccer Leagues (USL).
In the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Solo became the twenty-seventh American woman, and second goalkeeper, to reach 100 caps with her start in the 3–1 semifinal win over France.
In the final, the U.S. team lost 3–1 in a penalty shootout to Japan, after twice taking the lead in an eventual 2–2 draw. Solo expressed admiration for the Japanese team and offered her congratulations. Solo won the “Golden Glove” award for best goalkeeper, and the “Bronze Ball” award for her overall performance. She was also featured in the “All-star” team of the tournament.
