Cheryl Miller is considered one of the greatest women’s basketball players of all-time. She won a gold medal at the 1984 Summer Games in Los Angeles and played collegiately at the University of Southern California (USC), where she was a four-time All-American and three times was named the Naismith College Player of the Year. Miller was born in Riverside, California and attended Riverside Polytechnic High School, where she was a four-time Parade All-American and was twice named by Street & Smith as the High School Player of the Year. After playing, Miller enjoyed a successful career as a coach and broadcaster. She spent two years coaching at USC and four years coaching the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury. She also coached at Langston University and Cal State Los Angeles. On the broadcast side, Miller worked as a sideline reporter and NBA analyst for Turner Sports and a college basketball analyst for ESPN/ABC Sports. She also covered the 1988 Winter Olympics and worked for Wide World of Sports as a reporter. Her brothers are NBA Hall of Fame Reggie Miller and retired Major League Baseball player Darrell Miller.
