The St. Louis Cardinals compete in Major League Baseball’s National League Central division along with the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates. The Cardinals are one of the most successful franchises in Major League Baseball history. They’ve won 11 World Series, the most in the National League and second most overall, trailing only the New York Yankees.
They’ve played in Busch Stadium since 2006. Prior to that, the Cardinals played at Busch Memorial Stadium from 1966-2005. Professional baseball in St. Louis began in the late 1800’s with the Brown Stockings (later shortened to the Browns), who played in the American Association. The team’s name was changed to the Cardinals in 1900. The Cardinals play their spring training games at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida, and share the complex with the Miami Marlins.
