Chris Pronger is a former NHL defenseman who played from 1993-2012 with the Hartford Whalers (1993-1995), St. Louis Blues (1995-2004), Edmonton Oilers (2005-2006), Anaheim Ducks (2006-2009) and Philadelphia Flyers (2009-2012). Pronger was named to six All-Star Games in his career (1999-2002, 2004, 2008). In 1999-2000, Pronger scored 14 goals with 48 assists for the Blues, winning the Hart Memorial Trophy at year’s end as NHL MVP. He became the first defenseman since Bobby Orr in 1972 to capture the award and no other NHL defenseman since him has gone on to win it. Also, that season saw Pronger win the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the top defenseman in the NHL.

For the 2006-2007 season, Pronger’s first with Anaheim, he contributed 13 goals and 46 assists, helping the Ducks win the Stanley Cup. The 6-foot-6 Pronger also enjoyed a successful international career representing Canada, as he won two gold medals at the 2002 Salt Lake and 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Pronger played in a total of four Olympic Games and additionally won a gold medal with Canada in the 1997 World Championships. In 2015, he became a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and was inducted along with Sergie Federov, Nicklas Lidstrom, Angela Ruggiero, Peter Karmanos Jr, Bill Hay and Phil Housey
