Fred Taylor is a former running back who played in the NFL for 13 seasons from 1998-2010. Selected ninth overall out of Florida in the 1998 NFL Draft by Jacksonville, Taylor played for the Jaguars from 1998-2008 and recorded seven 1,000-yard rushing campaigns. Taylor earned All-Pro honors for Jacksonville in 2007 and is the franchise's all-time leader in rushing attempts and yards. Taylor's 11,695 career rushing yards ranks 17th in NFL history and he is just one of 31 players to record 10,000 rushing yards or more in their career. Taylor's finest season arguably was in 2003 when he set career-highs in carries (345), rushing yards (1,572) and first downs (77). He recorded a yards per carry average of 4.1 or better for all but three of his years in the NFL.

Taylor played with the New England Patriots from 2009-10 and retired in 2011 after signing a one-day contract with the Jags. He is a first cousin of former NFL wide receiver and Super Bowl XLIII MVP Santonio Holmes. Taylor played collegiately at the University of Florida and was a first-team All-SEC selection in 1997. He’s a member of both the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame and Pride of the Jaguars.
