Keith Tkachuk is a former NHL left winger who played in the league for 19 seasons from 1991-2010 for the Winnipeg Jets (1991-1996), Phoenix Coyotes (1996-2001), St. Louis Blues (2001-2007, 2008-2010) and Atlanta Thrashers (2006-2007). Over the course of his NHL career, Tkachuk was named to five All-Star Games and was twice named a second-team All-Star. Tkachuk is regarded as one of the greatest NHL players ever born in the United States and became the sixth American in the history of the NHL to notch 1,000 points. In 2011, he was an inductee into the US Hockey Hall of Fame.
In 1996-1997 with Phoenix, Tkachuk led the NHL in goals with 52, becoming the first American-born player in league history to do so. His 52 goals were also a career-high. He is ranked second all-time in Coyotes team history for game-winning goals with 40. Tkachuk retired from the NHL in 2010.
A four-time participant in the Winter Olympics with the United States team, at Salt Lake City in 2002 he helped the U.S. capture a silver medal, scoring two goals in five games. Additionally, Tkachuk won a gold medal at the 1996 World Cup of Hockey and, early in his pro career, in 1992 Tkachuk won a bronze medal at that year’s IIHF Ice Hockey World Junior Championships.
