Mike Gundy has served as the head football coach at his alma mater, Oklahoma State, since 2005. He surpassed Pat Jones to become the winningest football coach in program history in 2012. Prior to taking the reigns, Gundy was offensive coordinator and assistant head coach from 2001-2004. Gundy has led the Cowboys to a bowl berth every year but his first.

In 2010, the Cowboys went 10-2 and won the Alamo Bowl with Gundy earning Big 12 Coach of the Year honors. In 2011, Gundy led the Cowboys to a No. 3 overall ranking and win in the Fiesta Bowl over Stanford. That season saw Oklahoma State win a Big 12 title while Gundy himself was named the Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year and Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year.

Gundy played quarterback at Oklahoma State from 1986-1989, leading the Cowboys to a Sun Bowl win in 1987 and a Holiday Bowl victory in 1988. His coaching career began at Oklahoma State in 1990, when he oversaw the wide receivers. From 1991-1993, he coached quarterbacks at OSU while 1994-1995 saw him become the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator. After a stint coaching at Baylor (1996) and Maryland (1997-2000), Gundy returned to Oklahoma State to continue his coaching career.
