MUNCIE, IN. — Former NFL safety and Ball State University alum, Blaine Bishop, is scheduled to appear at Dick’s Sporting Goods grand opening on Saturday Oct. 4 from 1-3 p.m where Bishop will meet and greet fans. Dick’s Sporting Goods told The Star Press last Monday that it will open at 8 a.m. Oct. 3. Dick’s is part of the still-under-construction shopping center on nine acres of land in the 600 block of East McGalliard Road.
The Muncie Dick’s is the chain’s 18th store in Indiana and its 583rd nationally. Locally, the store is adjacent to Target and near Muncie Mall. The local store will offer Nike and Under Armour goods, outdoor gear and footwear.

Blaine Bishop is a retired NFL safety who played for the Houston Oilers / Tennessee Oilers / Tennessee Titans from 1993-2001. During his career, he earned Pro Bowl status four times. Blaine currently co-hosts a radio show in Nashville, TN called “Three Hour Lunch” or 3HL on WGFX “104.5 the Zone.”
