Ray Lewis and Peyton Manning will meet in the AFC divisional playoff this weekend in a much anticipated final showdown where the Baltimore Ravens will meet the Denver Broncos on January 12, 2013 in the AFC Divisional playoff game.
Both players have a playoff history where Peyton Manning has gotten the best of Ray Lewis in the two times they have played against each other. According to Pete Schrager of FoxSports, one of the games was in Baltimore, a game where the Colts won 15-6 and there were no touchdowns.
“This day I think we are going to see a lot of touchdowns,” Schrager said.
Peyton Manning does have history on his side, defeating the Ravens nine consecutive times and Las Vegas odds makers are giving the game win to the Denver Broncos.
When it comes to the playoffs, however, Lewis said the past losing games to Manning mean nothing.
“It’s a whole new game now. The only thing that matters right now is if we win this week.”
“It’s always those close games. It’s those classic memories that you reminisce about when the game is over. The warrior side of me remembers all those times being a heck of a battle.”
Denver has won 10 straight games, all of them by seven or more points, but don’t count the Ravens out. If the Ravens display the emotion, determination and game plan they have shown in their last games, then this could end up being a divisional upset.
