CICERO, IL –- Chicago Bears legend, Dan Hampton, has been named keynote speaker on Dec. 11, 2014 at the Friends of Morton Foundation’s third annual summit at Morton College, located at 3801 S Central Ave in Cicero, Illinois. According to Sallie Nyhan, development officer for the foundation, Hampton was selected as the keynote speaker as a natural representative of the summit’s theme of Powering Through. Nyhan said Hampton was a natural fit for the summit as he “powered through 10 knee surgeries on top of multiple other injuries to earn multiple Pro-Bowl honors and a Super Bowl championship with the 1985 Bears team.”
The goal of the summit is to have attendees leave empowered. The foundation, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to providing funding for lower-dollar projects on the campus to maintain the college as a leader in educational opportunities for everyone, said the release.
Watch Dan Hampton share stories from his career with Hall of Fame visitors.
Hampton is a retired NFL defensive tackle who played twelve seasons for the Chicago Bears from 1979 to 1990. He was a member of the 1985 Bears Super Bowl champion team and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002.
