GREAT FALLS, MT. — Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson will be the featured speaker at the 2013 Montana State University Triangle Classic in Great Falls, MT on April 19. The banquet and auction kicks off an annual celebration of MSU football and begins at 6 pm on Friday in Four Seasons Arena.
Dickerson, who played for the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts, set the NFL single-season rushing record with 2,105 yards in 1984 and is considered one of the greatest running backs in NFL history. Dickerson’s record-setting 1984 season came on the heels of a 1,808-yard rookie season. Dickerson gained at least 1,000 yards in seven different seasons, became the seventh player to gain 10,000 career rushing yards and was the fastest to do so. He was selected to six Pro Bowls and his 13,259 career rushing yards was second-most in NFL history at the time of his retirement.
The Triangle Classic continues on Saturday, April 20, with children’s football and cheer camps at the Paris Gibson practice fields at 1 pm. The weekend and Montana State’s 2013 spring practice session culminates with the Triangle Classic Scrimmage at Memorial Stadium.
