Hockey Hall of Famer Denis Savard Named as Featured Guest Speaker for 2017 Champions Banquet – May 25

HIGHLAND PARK, IL – Retired Chicago Blackhawks star and Hockey Hall of Famer Denis Savard has been named as the featured guest speaker for the 2017 Champions Banquet in Highland Park, IL on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Denis Savard will make an appearance at the fundraising event between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. to address the gathering. The event will also include a silent auction of one-of-a-kind signed sports memorabilia items from Chicago professional athletes.

According to the Park District of Highland Park website proceeds from the event will benefit the Parks Foundation of Highland Park SMILE Grant-in-Aid program:

“Proceeds benefit the Parks Foundation of Highland Park SMILE Grant-in-Aid program which provides recreation grants for local families in need of financial assistance.”

Denis Savard is a retired NFL center who played for the Chicago Blackhawks from 1981-1990, the Montreal Canadiens from 1990-1993 the Tampa Bay Lightning from 1993-1995 and the Chicago Blackhawks again from 1995-1997. Denis Savard is a Stanley Cup champion for 1993 with the Montreal Canadiens. Savard also is a nine-time NHL All-Star selection for 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1996 plus he is a Second All-Star selection for 1983. Denis Savard was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2000.
