HOUSTON, TX – Jason Taylor, Terrell Davis and LaDainian Tomlinson were recently announced as being among seven inductees to be enshrined on August 5th in Canton Ohio in the Class of 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame. The announcement was made after the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Selection Committee met in Houston on Saturday, February 4, 2017 to make their final selections from a list of 18 finalists. The Pro Football Hall of Fame recently published the results on their website and announced that the Class of 2017 will be enshrined in a formal ceremony at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, OH:
“The Class of 2017 will be formally enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 5. The Enshrinement Ceremony is held at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton as a part of the spectacular Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week Powered by Johnson Controls that celebrates the newest enshrinees of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.”
Jason Taylor is a former defensive end and linebacker who played for the Miami Dolphins from 1997 to 2007 and again in 2009 and 2011, the Washington Redskins in 2008 and the New York Jets in 2010. He is a six-time Pro Bowl player for 2000, 2002 and 2004 through 2007, a three-time First-team All-Pro for 2000, 2002and 2006 plus he is a Second-team All-Pro for 2001. He was named Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year for 2007, NFL Defensive Player of the Year for 2006 and was two-time AFC Defensive Player of the Year for 2002 and 2006.
Terrell Davis is a former NFL running back who played for the Denver Broncos from 1995 to 2001 with 7,607 career rushing yards. He was named league Most Valuable Player in 1998, two-time NFL Offensive Player of the Year for 1996 and 1998 and AFC Player of the Year for 1996. Davis is a two-time Super Bowl champion for Super Bowl XXXII and XXXIII plus he is Super Bowl XXXII MVP.
LaDainian Tomlinson is a former NFL running back who was the fifth overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft and was selected by the San Diego Chargers. At the time of his retirement, he had 13,684 career rushing yards (fifth highest), 18,456 all-purpose yards (seventh highest), 145 career rushing touchdowns (second highest) and 162 total touchdowns (third highest). He currently serves as an analyst on NFL Network.
