Cooper is a five-time NBA champion for 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987 and 1988 plus he was named NBA Defensive Player of the Year for 1987. Cooper is a five-time NBA All-Defensive First Team selection for 1982, 1984, 1985, 1987 and 1988 plus he is a three-time NBA All-Defensive Second Team selection for 1981, 1983 and 1986.
