Bernard King is a Hall of Fame forward who played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association for the New Jersey Nets (1977-1979, 1993), Utah Jazz (1979-1980), Golden State Warriors (1980-1982), New York Knicks (1982-1987) and Washington Bullets (1987-1991). He was a four-time All-Star and two-time first-team All-NBA selection.

King was named to the All-Rookie Team in 1978 and NBA Comeback Player of the Year in 1981. He led the league in scoring during the 1984-1985 season with an average per game of 32.9 points. For his career, King recorded 19,555 points and averaged 22.5 points per game, which ranked him at the time of his retirement 16th all-time in scoring in the NBA. King became a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013.

King was selected by the Nets out of the University of Tennessee in the 7th round of the 1977 draft. While in Knoxville, King was a consensus first-team All-American in 1977 and three times was named SEC Player of the Year. His jersey #53 was retired by Tennessee in 2007, the first jersey retirement of a men’s basketball player in school history. Since retirement, King has worked in broadcasting for the MSG Network and NBA TV.
