Cardale Jones is a former quarterback who played at Ohio State. After redshirting in 2012 and seeing limited action as a freshman in 2013, Jones burst onto the scene towards the end of the Buckeyes’ 2014 campaign. That year, Jones was listed at third string on the quarterback depth chart, but due to injures to starters Braxton Miller and J.T. Barrett, he started the Big Ten Conference Championship.
In what was his first collegiate start, Jones led the Buckeyes to a 59-0 rout of No. 13 Wisconsin, throwing three touchdown passes and winning game MVP honors. The following week, Jones started against No. 1 Alabama in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, again leading Ohio State to a win and berth in the National Championship. With Jones solidified at starter for the biggest game of the year, Ohio State triumphed in the title game, defeating Oregon, 42-20, with Jones going 16 of 23 for 242 yards and a touchdown. In 2015, Jones won the starting quarterback position and helped Ohio State to a 12-1 record, No. 4 overall ranking and victory in the Fiesta Bowl.
After his collegiate career ended, Jones was selected in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by Buffalo. He spent 2016 with the Bills and 2017 - 2018 with the Los Angeles Chargers. He was briefly a member of the Seattle Seahawks in 2019 and also competed in the United Football League, Canadian Football League and Indoor Football League.
