Christine Brennan is an award-winning sports columnist for USA Today, a best-selling author and commentator for ABC News, CNN, NPR and PBS NewsHour. She was named three times by the Associated Press as one of the top 10 sports columnists in the United States. She has covered close to 20 Summer and Winter Olympics. Brennan has been a well-known voice when it comes to important and oftentimes controversial subjects, especially on issues related to women in sports and Title IX.
In 1981, Brennan was hired by the Miami Herald as the newspaper’s first female sports writer and, in 1985, she became the first female to cover the Washington Redskins as a staffer for the Washington Post. Brennan has authored seven books, including Inside Edge, which was named by Sports Illustrated as one of the 100 best sports books of all-time.
