Jeremy Bloom is the only athlete to ever ski in the Olympics and be selected in the NFL draft. As a freestyle skier, he participated in the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics, won 12 World Cup gold medals and three World Championships. In 2005, Bloom won six consecutive freestyle World Cup events, a record in that discipline that stood for seven years. In 2012, Bloom became a member of the U.S Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame, the youngest person to ever be inducted. In 2016, Bloom became a member of the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame and was inducted with the likes of Champ Bailey of the Denver Broncos and Dante Bichette of the Colorado Rockies.
On the gridiron, Bloom was a wide receiver and return specialist for the Colorado Buffaloes in 2002 and 2003. He earned first-team Freshman All-American honors from the Football Writers Association of America. While in Boulder, Bloom set an all-time school record for combined punt and kickoff return yards in a one game with 250. As a testament to his athletic ability, Bloom participated in the 2006 NFL Scouting Combine not even a week after competing at the Winter Games in Turin, Italy. He was drafted by the Eagles in the 2006 NFL draft (5th round), where he was placed on injured reserve before signing with the Steelers in 2007.
While in Philadelphia, Bloom enrolled at Wharton Business School and finished a business entrepreneurship program. He went on to start a marketing technology company called Integrate and founded the non-profit charity Wish of a Lifetime, which works with senior citizens to grant longtime wishes. In 2013, Bloom was named a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year. He was also named by Forbes to its list of 30 under 30 tech executives. Bloom has additionally served as a tv analyst for skiing and college football with FOX, Pac-12 Network, NBC and ESPN.
