Kris Jenkins enjoyed a highly successful college basketball career at Villanova from 2013-2017 and will forever be remembered for his game-winning shot at the buzzer against North Carolina in the 2016 NCAA Finals that propelled the Wildcats to the national title. After being used as a reserve as a freshman and sophomore, Jenkins enjoyed a breakout junior season in 2015-2016 while playing for head coach Jay Wright. That year, he helped Villanova to a 34-5 overall record with a per game average of 13.6 points. Jenkins upped his production in the Big East Tournament, averaging 19.1 points per game, which earned him a spot on the Big East All-Tournament Team.
Villanova advanced through the NCAA Tournament and made it to the title game against the Tarheels where Jenkins left his mark on the program and college basketball forever. With time running out, he drilled a game-winning three-pointer to lift Villanova over North Carolina, 77-74. The next season as a senior, Jenkins earned All-Big East honorable mention accolades, averaging 13.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. After his college days, Jenkins played with the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA G League and later played professionally overseas in Germany. In 2020, he returned to his alma mater to work in student-athlete development for the men’s basketball team. Jenkins was born on November 20, 1993 in Columbia, South Carolina.
