Mike Golic is the current co-host of “Golic and Wingo”, a sports radio talk show that airs on ESPN Radio and is simulcast on television. Prior to joining the show, Golic co-hosted along with partner Mike Greenberg the longtime running “Mike & Mike” from 2000-2017. The duo were inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2016 and National Radio Hall of Fame in 2018. Golic went to work for ESPN in 1995 as an analyst/reporter for its Sunday NFL Countdown show. He has also covered the Arena Football League and continues to serve as an analyst for the network’s’ coverage of the NFL.
Prior to his broadcast career, Golic played defensive tackle in the NFL from 1985-1993, primarily for the Philadelphia Eagles but also the Houston Oilers and Miami Dolphins. He got his start in broadcasting while playing for the Eagles by hosting a weekly tv segment called “Golic’s Got It” on the “Randall Cunningham Show”. For his efforts, he was awarded a Mid-Atlantic Region Emmy Award. Golic was picked by Houston in the 10th round of the 1985 draft out of Notre Dame, where he was named team captain his senior season. Born on December 12, 1962, in Willowick, Ohio, Golic is the brother of former NFL player Bob Golic. In 2010, Golic co-authored a book with Greenberg titled “Mike and Mike’s Rules for Sports and Life”.
