Ricky Rudd is a retired stock car driver who won 23 races with 374 top ten finishes and 29 pole positions in the NASCAR Cup Series between 1975-2007. Rudd won at least one race in 16 straight racing seasons from 1983-1998. Among his notable wins were the International Race of Champions (1997) and Brickyard 400 (1997). Rudd held the record for most consecutive starts all-time in NASCAR racing with 788 before it was broken in 2015 by Jeff Gordon. For his career, Rudd started a total of 906 races, which is second all-time to Richard Petty’s record 1,185 starts.

Rudd was born in Chesapeake, Virginia and began racing motocross and karting as a teenager. He made his NASCAR debut in 1975 at North Carolina Speedway. In 1977, he was named Rookie of the Year. Rudd received a host of honors for his racing accomplishments. He was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame (2007), Hampton Roads Hall of Fame (2010) and Daytona Beach Stock Car Hall of Fame (2014). He was named in 1998 one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers. In 2012, Rudd became an analyst for Speed Center on Speed Channel. He also appeared on the tv show Dallas in 2013.
