Ryan Tannehill has played quarterback in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans since 2019. Prior to that, he played for the Miami Dolphins from 2012 – 2018 after being selected in the 1st round of the NFL Draft in 2012 out of Texas A&M. Tannehill’s first three years in Miami saw his passer rating increase each season. During his rookie campaign, Tannehill set a Dolphins rookie franchise mark for passes completed with 282. In 2014, he set a career-high in passing touchdowns with 27 while throwing for 4,045 yards. The 2015 season saw him throw for 4,208 yards and 24 touchdowns to go along with a 61.9 completion percentage. Tannehill was dogged by injuries during the latter half of his time in Miami, as he missed the entirety of the 2017 season due to a torn ACL as well as a handful of injury-related absences in 2016 and 2018.
When he joined the Titans in 2019, Tannehill was backing up starter Marcus Mariota before replacing him in Week 6. When Tannehill took over as the team’s starter, Tennessee was 2-4 on the year and, from that point, he led the team to a 7-3 finish, tossing 22 touchdowns compared to just six interceptions. His 117.5 passer rating led the NFL and he took the Titans all the way to the AFC Championship game, where they were defeated by the eventual Super Bowl LIV champion Kansas City Chiefs. For his resurgent performance, Tannehill was named to the Pro Bowl and also won NFL Comeback Player of the Year honors. Tannehill was born on July 27, 1988 in Lubbock, Texas.
