Steve Bartkowski is a retired NFL quarterback who played from 1975-1986. An All-American in football and baseball for the University of California, Berkeley, Bartkowski was selected first overall in the 1975 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons with whom he’d play for 11 of his 12 years in the league. Bartkowski made an immediate impact with the Falcons and in 1975 was voted as The Sporting News NFC Rookie of the Year. In 1980 and 1981, he earned back-to-back Pro Bowl selections, throwing for a combined 48 touchdowns in the two seasons. The 1980 season saw him lead the NFL in passing touchdowns while later in 1983, he led the league with a 97.6 passer rating.

Bartkowski went on to set a record for most home games with at least three touchdown passes, which stood until broken by Peyton Manning in 2004. Bartkowski played one season for the Los Angeles Rams in 1986 before retiring after the season. He owns a career 55.9 completion rate and threw 156 touchdowns. Atlanta retired his #10 jersey and he’s a member of the Falcons Ring of Honor. He also served on the Falcons board of advisors for 13 years. In 2012, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
