Tad Boyle has served as head coach of the men’s basketball team at the University of Colorado since 2010. In just his second season with the Buffs, Boyle coached the team to a Pac-12 Conference title and a berth in the 2011-2012 NCAA Tournament, where they advanced to the third round. In his first two seasons, Boyle’s teams tallied a total of 48 victories, the most ever for the Buffs in a two-year span. He was voted by his peers in the National Association of Basketball Coaches as the District 20 Coach of the Year. Prior to Colorado, Boyle was head coach at the University of North Colorado from 2006-10. In his last season, he led the Bears to their most wins ever in a single season (25) and their first postseason tournament in school history.

Boyle attended the University of Kansas where he played basketball under coaches Larry Brown and Ted Owens. During his time in Lawrence, he served as captain his senior year and played on two teams that reached the NCAA Tournament. Prior to Kansas, Boyle attended high school at Greeley Central, where as a senior he was named Colorado Player of the Year and led his team to a championship as a senior. The school retired Boyle’s jersey number after the season.
