Tommie Frazier is a former college football quarterback who most notably led the Nebraska Cornhuskers offense from 1992-1995. Frazier led the Huskers to back-to-back National Championships in 1994 and 1995 and is one of only five quarterbacks to have done so since the early 1950s. In 1999, Sports Illustrated named him to the NCAA Football All-Century Team.

Frazier was named the Big Eight Freshman of the Year in 1992 and, in 1993, he led Nebraska to an 11-1 record. The Huskers were a perfect 10-0 during the regular season but fell to Florida State, 18-16, in that year’s Orange Bowl.

In 1994, Nebraska returned to the Orange Bowl, defeating Miami to claim the National Championship. Frazier was named Orange Bowl MVP. When Nebraska repeated as National Champions in 1995, Frazier was honored as Fiesta Bowl MVP. In 1995, he was the Heisman Trophy runner-up, a Consensus All-American and won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. In large part due to Frazier, the 1995 Nebraska was named by ESPN.com as the greatest college football team ever.

Frazier enjoyed a brief career in the CFL with the Montreal Alouettes but retired from football in 1996 due to chronic blood clots as a side effect of his Crohn’s disease. Frazier was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
