ENGLEWOOD, CO – Denver Broncos placekicker Jason Elam and safety John Lynch were selected for the Broncos Ring of Fame on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 along with outside linebacker and defensive end Simon Fletcher. Elam and Lynch received their honors along with Fletcher at a meeting of the Broncos Ring of Fame Selection Committee on Tuesday afternoon in a conference room at the UCHealth Training Center. According to the Denver Broncos article the Fletcher, Elam and Lynch were part of an exclusive group whose careers spanned three decades of Broncos history:
“Collectively, Fletcher, Elam and Lynch span three decades of Broncos history and will become the 29th, 30th and 31st members of the exclusive group.”
Jason Elam is a retired placekicker for the Denver Broncos & Atlanta Falcons. He was originally drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He played college football at Hawaii. A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Elam won two Super Bowl rings with the Broncos and is tied with Tom Dempsey for the longest field goal in NFL history at 63 yards.
John Lynch is a retired defensive back for the Denver Broncos and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Lynch is a nine-time Pro Bowl selection, who earned a Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII. In 2002, Lynch collected a Super Bowl ring in Super Bowl XXXVII with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in San Diego, California. He was the first player to wear a microphone in the Super Bowl.
