Jason Elam is a former NFL placekicker who played for the Denver Broncos from 1993-2007 and Atlanta Falcons from 2008-2009. He was drafted by Denver in the third round of the 1993 NFL Draft. During his time in Denver, Elam earned three trips to the Pro Bowl and was a second-team All-Pro in 1995, 1998 and 2001. During the 1998 season, he drilled a 63-yard field goal, tying a then-NFL record.

Elam won Super Bowl rings in 1997 and 1998. In Super Bowl XXXII against Green Bay, he made a 51-yard field goal and the next year in Super Bowl XXXIII versus the Falcons, he made two field goals while hitting all four of his extra point attempts. Elam joined Atlanta in 2008 and played for two seasons before signing a one-day contract with Denver to retire with the Broncos. Elam was known for his accuracy and retired having made just under 81 percent of his field goals; he made a total of 436 in his career and scored 1,983 points. He is a member of the Broncos Ring of Fame and was named to the Broncos 50th Anniversary Team.

Elam played college football at the University of Hawaii and held the Western Athletic Conference record for most points scored until 2010. Since retiring, Elam has published a number of books, including “Monday Night Jihad”, “Blown Coverage”, “Blackout” and “Inside Threat”.
