Doug Pederson has led the Philadelphia Eagles as head coach since 2016. In just his second season with Philadelphia in 2017, he helped the team improve from a 7-9 record the year prior to 13-3 record and a Super Bowl LII win over the New England Patriots, 41-33, which gave the franchise its first championship. In winning the title, Pederson joined Tony Dungy, Tom Flores and Mike Ditka as the only people to ever win a Super Bowl as both a head coach and player.
Pederson initially joined the Eagles in 2009 as an analyst and later coached the team’s quarterbacks in 2011 and 2012 before serving as offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2013-2015. Pederson’s start in coaching came in 2005 when he took the head coaching position at Calvary Baptist Academy in Louisiana, a job he held through 2008 before joining the Eagles.
Pederson played quarterback professionally from 1991-2004, which included two stints with the Green Bay Packers (1995-1998, 2001-2004). As a backup for Brett Favre and also Green Bay’s placeholder, Pederson won a Super Bowl XXXI ring. He also played for the Eagles, Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins, serving as backup to Dan Marino. Born on January 31, 1968 in Bellingham, Washington, Pederson played college football at Northeast Louisiana and originally joined the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 1991.
