Greg Olsen has played tight end for the Carolina Panthers since 2011. Prior to that, he played for the Chicago Bears from 2007-2010. He is a three-time Pro Bowl selection (2014-2016) and two-time second-team All-Pro (2015-2016). Olsen is the first tight end in NFL history to amass 1,000 receiving yards in three straight seasons. In 2007, he was named the recipient by the Bears of the Brian Piccolo Award.
Olsen was drafted by the Bears out of the University of Miami in the 1st round of the 2007 NFL Draft. In 2007, he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team. Oslen was raised in Wayne, New Jersey and went to Wayne Hills High School. He was a finalist his senior year for the Gatorade Player of the Year and was a USA Today First-Team All-American. He finished his high school career with 73 catches, 1,474 yards and 27 touchdowns. In 2003, he competed in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Olsen originally enrolled at Notre Dame but transferred to the Hurricanes as a freshman.
Off the field, Olsen is very involved in the community. In 2009, he founded Receptions for Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation, which provides resources to doctors, scholars and hospitals to better the lives of people affected by cardiovascular disease and cancer. He’s also hosted in Chicago the Kicks for a Cure Kickball tournament, which is considered the largest charity kickball event in the world.
