Marcus Lattimore is a retired running back who played college football at the University of South Carolina from 2010-2012. In his freshman year, Lattimore ran for 1,197 yards and was honored as the SEC, Sporting News and CBS Sports Freshman of the Year along with being named first-team All-SEC. Over the next two seasons, Lattimore suffered two knee injuries that limited his playing time. Despite playing a total of only 24 games, Lattimore set an all-time school record with 38 rushing touchdowns. He was drafted in the 4th round by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2013 NFL Draft but never competed in a game during the regular season and retired from football in 2014.
Lattimore was born on October 29, 1991 in Duncan, South Carolina and played high school football at James F. Byrnes High School. He was one of the most celebrated high school players in the history of the state and received a host of accolades, including being named the ESPN RISE National High School Junior Football Player of the Year, South Carolina Mr. Football and a USA high school All-American.
Lattimore founded the Marcus Lattimore Foundation/DREAMS to develop today’s youth into leaders and role models through education, character, Christian values, life-skills development and health & wellness. In 2016, Lattimore was named head coach at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School and, in 2018, was named by the Gamecocks as its Director of Player Development. Lattimore was born on October 29, 1991 in Duncan, South Carolina and married Miranda Bailey, his high school sweetheart, in 2015.
