Dorsey Levens played running back in the NFL from 1994 – 2004 and is best remembered for his time with the Green Bay Packers from 1994 – 2001. He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles (2002, 2004) and New York Giants (2003). During his time with the Packers, Levens amassed over 1,000 yards rushing twice and was named to the Pro Bowl in 1997. He also played an important role in helping the team to a win in Super Bowl XXXI against the New England Patriots. In that game, Levens rushed for 61 yards on 14 carries, helping Brett Favre win his only Super Bowl and giving the Packers franchise its first tile in 29 years. He became a member of the Packers Hall of Fame in 2009.
Levens was born on May 21, 1970 in Syracuse, New York. He started college at Notre Dame before transferring to Georgia Tech, where he earned first-team All-ACC honors his senior season. He was picked by the Packers in the 5th round of the NFL Draft. After retiring from playing, Levens worked as an analyst for PlayerPress.com and NFL Mobile Gamecenter. He also spent time working as an actor, appearing in the movie “We Are Marshall” and in Tyler Perry’s play called “Madea On The Run”.
