Milwaukee Brewers Booking Details
The Milwaukee Brewers compete in Major League Baseball’s National League Central division along with the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds. The Brewers were founded as the Seattle Pilots in 1969 as an expansion franchise in the American League. After one season, owner Bud Selig purchased the team out of bankruptcy and relocated them to Milwaukee. In 1998, the Brewers joined the National League, one of only two current MLB teams to switch leagues (the other being the Houston Astros). They are also the only team to play in four divisions since the start of division play in 1969. The Brewers are named after Milwaukee’s deep-rooted ties to the brewing industry.
The Brewers have made one appearance in the World Series in 1982, losing to the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-3. Among the Brewers greatest players include Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Cecil Cooper, Jeff Cirillo, Ryan Braun, Geoff Jenkins, Prince Fielder and Rollie Fingers. Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Uecker has been calling their games on radio since 1971.
