Texas Rangers Booking Details
The Texas Rangers compete in Major League Baseball’s American League West division along with the Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Angels, Houston Astros and Oakland A’s. The Rangers have played their home games at Globe Life Park in Arlington since 1994. Prior to that, they played at Arlington Stadium from 1972-1993.
The Rangers began play in 1961 as the Washington Senators. They moved to Texas after the 1971 season and debuted as the Rangers the next spring. The Rangers won the AL pennants in back-to-back years in 2010 & 2011 but lost in the World Series both times, first to the San Francisco Giants and next to the St. Louis Cardinals. Another highlight in Rangers history was the play of Hall Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan, who threw two of his record-setting seven no hitters while playing for the Rangers, one in 1990 and the other in 1991.
Among the greatest Rangers include Nolan Ryan, Ivan Rodriguez, Rusty Greer, Michael Young, Jim Sundberg, Adrian Beltre, Juan Gonzalez, Josh Hamilton, Rafael Palmeiro, Fergie Jenkins, Ian Kinsler, Kenny Rogers, Will Clark and Gaylord Perry. Managers have included Bobby Valentine, Johnny Oates, Buck Showalter and Ron Washington.
