Toronto Blue Jays Booking Details
The Toronto Blue Jays compete in Major League Baseball’s American League East division along with the Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays. The team was founded as an expansion franchise in 1977. The Blue Jays started play at Exhibition Stadium before moving to the SkyDome in 1989 (it’s now called Roger Centre). The Blue Jays are one of two MLB franchises to be based outside the United States and the only current one (the Montreal Expos moved to Washington DC in 2005).
The Blue Jays have two World Series (1992 & 1993) and two American League pennants (1992 & 1993). In one of the more memorable World Series, Joe Carter hit a three-run walk-off home run to give the Jays a 4-2 series win over the Atlanta Braves. Carter’s home run was just the second World Series that ended on a home run (the other was Pittsburgh’s Bill Mazeroski in 1960). Among the Blue Jays greatest players include Joe Carter, John Olerud, Roberto Alomar, Roy Halladay, Jack Morris, Dave Winfield, Tony Fernandez and Carlos Delgado.
