Miami Marlins Booking Details
The Miami Marlins compete in Major League Baseball’s National League East division along with the Washington Nationals, New York Mets, Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies. The Marlins have played their home games at Marlins Park since 2012. Prior to that, they played at Hard Rock Stadium from 1993-2011.
The Marlins began play in 1993 as an expansion franchise (along with the Colorado Rockies). They’ve won two World Series, the first in 1997 when they defeated the Cleveland Indians, 4-3, behind Edgar Renteria’s hit that drove in Craig Counsell for the series-winning run in the 11th inning of Game 7, and the second in 2003 when they beat the New York Yankees, 4-2. The Marlins have the distinction of being the only team in major professional sports to have never lost a playoff round as they won the World Series both times they reached the postseason.
Among the Marlins greatest players include Gary Sheffield, Josh Beckett, Jeff Conine, Mike Lowell, Edgar Renteria, Ivan Rodriguez, Hanley Ramirez, Dontrelle Willis, Juan Pierre, Dan Uggla and Derrek Lee.
