San Francisco 49ers Booking Details
The San Francisco 49ers play in the National Football League’s NFC West division along with the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers began play in 1946 as a member of the All-American Football Conference and joined the National Football League when the leagues merged in 1949. The 49ers were the first major pro sports team based in San Francisco and have played their home games at Levi’s Stadium since 2014. Prior to that, they played at Candlestick Park from 1971-2013.
The 49ers have won five Super Bowls, in 1981 (Super Bowl XVI), 1984 (Super Bowl XIX), 1988 (Super Bowl XXIII), 1989 (Super Bowl XXIV) and 1994 (Super Bowl XXIX). The MVP’s were Joe Montana (three times), Jerry Rice and Steve Young. Joe Walsh was head coach for the first three Super Bowls wins and George Seifert was head coach for the last two. Among the 49ers greatest players include Montana, Rice, Young, Ronnie Lott, Roger Craig, Patrick Willis, Charles Haley, Terrell Owens, Frank Gore, Dwight Clark, John Taylor, Randy Cross, Joe Staley, Deion Sanders, Brent Jones and Merton Hanks.
