The Atlanta Hawks were founded in 1946. The team was originally the Buffalo Bisons, but after thirteen games the team relocated to Illinois and became the Tri-City Blackhawks. The team continued to relocate until 1968, when the team moved a final time to Atlanta Georgia. The Hawks play their home games at Philips Arena. The Hawks play in the Southeast Division in the National Basketball Association, which includes the Charlotte Bobcats, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards. Among their most famous players include Dikembe Mutombo, Dominique Wilkins, Eddie Johnson, John Drew, Kevin Willis, Lenny Wilkens, Mookie Blaylock and Spud Webb.
