Baltimore Orioles Booking Details
The Baltimore Orioles compete in Major League Baseball’s American League East division along with the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays. The Orioles were founded in 1901 as one of eight original American League charter teams. The Orioles are owned by attorney Peter Angelos. The team got its name from the Maryland state bird. They play at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, which opened in 1992. Prior to that, the team played at Memorial Stadium from 1954-1991. One especially historic game occurred at Camden Yards in 1995 when Cal Ripken Jr. broke Lou Gehrig’s record of 2,130 consecutive games played. In 1999, it was voted by fans as the greatest baseball moment of the 20th century.
