One of the greatest postseason pitchers in history, Curt Schilling won three World Series over a career that spanned from 1988 -2007 with the Baltimore Orioles (1988-1990), Houston Astros (1991), Philadelphia Phillies (1992-2000), Arizona Diamondbacks (2000-2003) and Boston Red Sox (2004-2007). Schilling won World Series titles with the Diamondbacks in 2001 and Red Sox in 2004 & 2007. He also played in the Fall Classic with the Phillies in 1993. Schilling was named MVP of the 2001 World Series and 1993 National League Championship Series (NLCS). He posted a 11-2 record in the postseason and in seven World Series starts, went 4-1 with an ERA of 2.06. Schilling will always be remembered for his performance with the Red Sox against the New York Yankees as the starter in Game 6 of the 1994 American League Championship Series (ALCS). After losing the first three games and trailing 3-0, the Red Sox won Games 4 & 5 with a chance tie the Series. With blood visible on his sock due to a tendon injury in his right ankle, Schilling threw seven innings to propel the Red Sox to a Game 7 showdown, which they won in route to ultimately winning the World Series. Schilling made his debut in the majors with the Orioles on September 7, 1988. During his stellar career, Schilling was a six-time All-Star, led MLB in wins in 2001 and 2004 and led the National League in strikeouts in 1997 and 1998. He also led the NL in complete games in four seasons. Schilling became the 14th player in baseball history to record 3,000 strikeouts when he achieved the feat in 2006.
