Howie Kendrick is an MLB infielder for the Washington Nationals who has played in the league since 2006. He previously played for the Los Angeles Angels (2006-2014), Los Angeles Dodgers (2015-2016) and Philadelphia Phillies (2017) before joining the Nationals in 2017.

With the Nationals in 2019, Kendrick hit .344 along with 17 home runs and 62 RBI. During the postseason, he collected five hits in 15 at-bats with four doubles, four RBI and a game and series-winning grand slam in the 10th inning of Game 5 of the NLCS. For his efforts, he was named MVP of the playoff series. He repeated his heroics in the World Series as the Nationals squared off against the Houston Astros. With Washington visiting Houston for the decisive Game 7, Kendrick hit a home run that gave the Nats a lead they would not relinquish, thus helping the team to its first title in the history of the franchise.

In 2011 with the Angels, Kendrick earned an All-Star selection and hit .285 with 18 homers and 63 RBI. Kendrick was a 10th round pick in the 2002 MLB Draft by the Angels and made his Major League Baseball debut on April 26, 2006. Kendrick was born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 12, 1983 and played collegiately at St. John’s River Community College.
