Jeff Brantley is a retired pitcher and current Cincinnati Reds broadcaster. Brantley pitched in the majors for 14 years from 1988-2001 for the San Francisco Giants, Reds, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and Texas Rangers. He was named to the 1990 All-Star team with the Giants and won the 1996 National League Rolaids Relief Man Award with the Reds after leading the league in saves with 44. He made his major league debut with the Giants on August 5, 1988 and is a member of the Giants Wall of Fame.

After retiring from playing, Brantley embarked on a broadcast career, working for ESPN from 2002-2006, including its “Baseball Tonight” show. In 2007, he started working as a radio analyst for Cincinnati games on the Reds Radio Network and as a tv analyst for games on FSN Ohio.

Brantley was born on September 5, 1963 in Florence, Alabama. He went to school at W.A. Berry High School before playing college baseball at Mississippi State, where he played with future MLB players Will Clark, Bobby Thigpen and Rafael Palmeiro. His 45 wins for the Bulldogs tied a SEC record among pitchers for most victories in a career. He became a member of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
