Merril Hoge Booking Agent Details
Merril Hoge is a former NFL player who played from 1987-1994 with the Pittsburgh Steelers (1987-1993) and Chicago Bears (1994). During his time in Pittsburgh, Hoge served primarily as a fullback. He saw his first extended action in 1988, rushing 170 times for a total of 705 yards while scoring three touchdowns. That same season, he also caught 50 passes for 487 yards, a career-high on the receiving yards front. In 1989, he set a career-high with eight rushing td’s while later in 1990, he rushed for a career-best 772 yards. Hoge in 1991 started all 16 games for the Steelers, rushing for 610 yards on 165 carries while also catching 49 passes for a total of 379 yards. Hoge joined the Chicago Bears in 1994 before retiring later that season due to multiple concussions.
Hoge played college football at Idaho State and was a 10th round pick in 1987 by the Steelers. While at Idaho State, Hoge was a three-time All-Big Sky Conference selection. From 1996-2017, he worked for ESPN as an NFL analyst. Off the football field and away from the broadcasting studio, Hoge has been active in philanthropic endeavors, serving as a board of directors member for the Highmark Caring Foundation and hosting the charitable Hoge-Bruener-Ward Golf Classic for a number of years. In 2003, Hoge was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
