Raghib “Rocket” Ismail is a former professional football player who played in both the Canadian Football League (CFL) and National Football League (NFL), specializing as a wide receiver and kick returner. Ismail played for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in college, winning consensus All-American honors and the Walter Camp Award in 1990 while finishing second in Heisman Trophy voting. He was also a track star while at Notre Dame, finishing second in the 55-meter sprint at the 1991 NCAA Indoor Track Championships. He signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL and in his first season, won a championship as the Argonauts beat the Calgary Stampeders in the 1991 Grey Cup, with Ismail earning Grey Cup MVP.

He played in the CFL through the 1992 season but then joined the L.A. Raiders in 1993, transitioning to the NFL. He stayed in L.A. for three seasons before being traded to Carolina, for whom he played from 1996-98. He enjoyed a breakout campaign in 1998, scoring eight touchdowns with 1,024 receiving yards. After signing with the Dallas Cowboys in 1999, Ismail recorded a career-best season that same year with his 1,097 yards. Injuries hampered the tail end of his career and he retired in 2003. Ismail spent some time working as a broadcaster after retiring, including stints with ESPN and FSN Southwest.
