Andrew Shaw currently plays right wing for the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks and helped lead the team to two Stanley Cup titles in 2013 and 2015. After being picked in the 5th round of the 2011 NHL Draft, Shaw played for Chicago in 2011-2016 and Montreal in 2016-2019 before returning to the Blackhawks in 2019.
After a season with Chicago’s AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, Shaw was called up to the Blackhawks in the middle of the 2011-2012 season and played well in 37 games, notching 12 goals and 11 assists. In 2012-2013, he once more split time between the AHL and NHL, appearing with Chicago in 48 games and helping the Blackhawks to its first of two Stanley Cup titles. Shaw played in 79 regular season games with the Blackhawks for the 2014-2015 season, collecting 15 goals and 26 points. The Blackhawks again cruised through the postseason and won their second Stanley Cup title in three years. In 2016, Shaw was traded to the Canadiens, where in 2018-2019 he set new career-highs in points (48) and assists (28) while scoring 19 goals.
Shaw was born on July 20, 1991 in Belleville, Ontario. As a junior, Shaw played in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the Niagara IceDogs and Owen Sound Attack. Off the ice, Shaw has supported the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
