Bill Raftery is one of the most recognizable voices in college basketball. He currently works for CBS Sports on its college basketball coverage and FS1 on its Big East broadcasts. Raftery has spent over 30 years as a college basketball analyst for CBS, CBS Radio, Westwood One, Fox Sports and ESPN, covering most major events related to the sport including the Final Four, NCAA Tournament, Big Ten Championship, SEC Championship, ACC Championship and Big East Championship.

Although he’s called many Final Fours on radio since 1991, Raftery did his first Final Four on tv in 2015 when he partnered with Grant Hill and Jim Nantz. Raftery started his broadcast career when he joined ESPN in 1982. Raftery has been recognized for his work with three Emmy Awards, the Victor Sports Awards and Walter Payton “Sweetness” Award. He was inducted into the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame in 2015.

Prior to broadcasting, Raftery served as men’s head basketball coach at Seton Hall from 1970-1981 . He led the team to seven winning seasons in a row and two NIT appearances. He also coached at Fairleigh Dickinson, where he was named Coach of the Year his last season. As a player, Raftery attended LaSalle and set a scoring record for a freshman with 370 points. He served as co-captain his senior year and was drafted by the New York Knicks.
