Book Brent Jones Appearances & Speaking Engagements

Brent Jones is a retired tight end who played 11 seasons in the National Football League from 1987-1997 for the San Francisco 49ers. He was a three-time Super Bowl champion (Super Bowls XXII, XXIV, XXIX), four-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro. For his career, Jones caught 417 passes for 5,195 yards and 33 touchdowns. He won the Bart Starr Award in 1988 for his leadership and character on and off the field.

Jones was drafted out of Santa Clara by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 5th round of the 1986 NFL draft. He suffered a neck injury five days after the draft and was released by Pittsburgh in September of 1986. He signed with the 49ers in December of that year. He was born in Santa Clara and attended Santa Clara High School, where he competed in football and baseball, the latter of which he was selected first-team All-League.

Upon retirement, Jones worked for CBS Sports as an NFL analyst from 1998-2005. He also co-founded a private equity/venture capital company called Northgate Capital with former 49ers Tommy Vardell, Steve Young and Mark Harris. Additionally, he served on the board of San Jose Sports & Entertainment Enterprises, the owner of the NHL’s San Jose Sharks
