Carli Lloyd is an American World Cup, Olympic and professional soccer player. She played in the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, winning gold medals and scoring the game-winning goals at the Beijing and London games. She was instrumental in the United States National Team’s victory at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Lloyd was recognized as the back-to-back FIFA Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016. From 2001-2004, while playing collegiately for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Lloyd scored 83 goals in 50 career games, earning First Team All-Big East honors in each of her seasons. In 2013, she was enshrined into the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni. Lloyd is a six-time Algarve Cup champion with the United States and helped the US to CONCACAF Women’s Championships in 2014 and 2018. She earned CONCACAF Women’s Player of the Year honors in 2015 and was the U.S. Soccer Player of the Year in 2008. In her career with the U.S. National Team, she’s scored 101 goals.

Lloyd has enjoyed a lengthy professional career outside of the USWNT; from 1999-2004, while at Rutgers, she played in the developmental W League. Lloyd played in the Women’s Professional Soccer League during its existence from 2009-11 and, with the advent of the National Women’s Soccer League, the successor to WPSL, has played in that league as well since its inception in 2013. She has played for the Western New York Flash, Houston Dash and Sky City FC. Lloyd has been an active philanthropist for Habitat for Humanity during her career.
